Devon Kuwanquaftewa, originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, was raised in a home that prioritized both academic achievement and cultural heritage. As a proud member of the Hopi Tribe, specifically of the Water clan from Shungopavi village, Devon embodies a deep connection to his roots.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Health Promotion from Michigan State University. During his time at MSU, Devon was actively involved with the Office of Racial Ethnic Student Affairs (ORESA) as a Racial Ethnic Student Aide (RESA). Post-graduation, Devon returned to Arizona, where he diversified his professional experience in fields including Special Education, Hospitality, and Sports facilitation.
Now based back in East Lansing, Devon eagerly joins the OCAT team, bringing a wealth of diverse skills and experiences. He assumes the role of Student Success Initiative Coordinator and serves as Advisor for the North American Indigenous Student Organization (NAISO).
