About OCAT Transition and Cultural Aides

Successful students have a universal ingredient to their success: they surround themselves with other successful students. As the old saying goes, “the company you keep tells a lot about you and where you’re going.”

OCAT connects successful students to each other. Examples abound, but one particular approach is through connecting our Transition and Cultural Aides to students living within the residence halls.

The main role of our Aides is to establish a relationship with you — to get to know you and to connect you to people, ideas, and programs that promote your success at MSU. Remember: success leaves clues. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel by figuring out how to be successful at MSU.

We have 66 students who serve as student staff members of OCAT, and whose goal is to help create an inclusive environment within both the residence halls and the University at large.
