1. Biochemistry

The department provides fee-based tutoring for students enrolled in BMB 401, 461, 462.

2. Biology

Biology offers free tutoring assistance for students enrolled in BS 161, 162, and 171.

3. Business Courses (Multicultural Business Programs)

The Multicultural Business Program offers free tutorial services to undergraduate students during the Fall and Spring semester on a first come first serve basis. This service provides approximately 200-350 students each semester with support in ten core business courses. Our tutors help students review concepts, practice problem solving and applications for these specific course.

4. Chemistry

The Chemistry Help Room (81 and 82 Chemistry Building) offers free assistance to students enrolled in General and Organic Chemistry. There is also a list of tutors- for hire- available in the Main Office (485 Chemistry).

5. CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) Help Room

6. Engineering Courses (Guided Learning Center)

The Guided Learning Center (GLC) is a resource for students provided by the Diversity Programs Office in the College of Engineering. The Academic Assistance program is designed to include supplemental instructions for first and second year students as well as for the more demanding and challenging courses in the engineering curriculum. This program is provided for engineering students at no cost.

7. English Language Center

English Language Center (B230 Wells Hall) provides instruction to international students who need to improve their English language skills before beginning academic course work. The ELC also serves the international community by providing English language instruction against a backdrop of American life and academia.

8. Mathematics-Math Learning Center

The Math Learning Center (Wells Hall) provides walk-in assistance to students enrolled in all 100 and 200 level math courses and limited assistance in upper level math courses. In addition, the MLC also provides practice tests, group study sessions, exam reviews, and online tutoring in selected courses. Math support is also provided in the MSU neighborhoods.

9. Physics

The Physics Help Room (1248 BPS) provides walk-in tutoring for students enrolled in selected 100 level and 200 level physics courses. The department also keeps a list of for-hire tutors.

10. Social Science

Social Science offers a variety of free support options in selected social science courses (Criminal Justice, Economics, ISS, Sociology). These options include drop-in tutoring, appointments, and review sessions. Services are available in the Engagement Centers and the Main Library.

11. Statistics

The Statistics Help Room (A wing of Wells Hall) provides drop-in assistance to students enrolled in selected STT courses.

12. Writing Center

The Writing Center at Michigan State University provides writing support for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, at all levels of proficiency, at any stage in the composing process, and with any type of composing project. We offer one-on-one and group writing consultations, various writing-specific workshops, as well as writing groups for graduate students and faculty. We have locations across MSU’s campus serving the needs of all students and campus communities.
